Maw Of The Umbra: Abode of Golgotha 2, the anticipated sequel to The Abode of Golgotha has been released. MOTU has been in the making for many many months and is argueably the best single player add-on for Heretic II available. It's completely free as well, so head on over to The Abode to get it.

Maw Of The Umbra, the sequel to the Heretic II add-on 'Abode Of Golgotha' finally has a release date! Here's a bit of the story to set the proper mood:"Yurich takes them elsewhere, away from the mansion. I must discover where." - Unknown.
It’s time to uncover the darkest secret of all.
Deep in the recesses of the Forest of Sanchel, The shadow left behind by Yurich lays seething and growing into a nightmare of unimaginable horror. Now as Kurien, the only man ever to face Yurich and live, you must come to terms with your own personal demons and stop the all consuming darkness before it covers the face of the world forever. Maw of the Umbra: Abode of Golgotha 2 contains:- New creepy sound effects
- 12 Areas in a step based format
- A continuation of the AOG storyline with characters and cutscenes
- A split decision point which changes the route through a section of the game
- 2 different endings
Maw Of The Umbra undergoes final testing at this moment and will be released on the January 7th, 2001!

Bored with standard Heretic II DM? Head over to Raven-Games.com hosted site, Grin's Place and give her DominationH2 mod a try! Those of you who've played Unreal Tournament will already know the rules. Those of you who haven't should be able to pick them up fast enough. Here's how Grin explains it:This is a team game. Team male (blue) vs. Team female (red). The aim of the game is to capture and hold the 'control' points. These are large, glowing rotating H2 symbols that you'll find scattered around the map. Touch the control point and it will change colour to match your team, and you will receive a frag for each 5 seconds that you stay in control. The idea is simple, but you'll need some good teamwork tactics to control the whole map. The mod uses a new model, new HUD icons and modified maps, so there is a client download needed (2.4MB). There is no bot support yet, but Grin's working on that for a future release. Head to Grin's DominationH2 page for the download and more info!
