How do I run GL Heretic II on a Monster 1/Voodoo 1 chip?
Why do I keep freezing at certain intervals during gameplay?
The game keeps crashing after I get the Blood Container in Andoria, then try to leave. WHY?
In the Andoria Slums, I enter a room where the ceiling falls, but I cannot jump up that ledge to exit. How do I do it?
How to run GL Heretic II on a
Monster 1 card:
Go to www.3dfx.com and download the latest drivers for
the Voodoo 1 chip. Make sure you get Glide 2.46 and install it, replacing the
Diamond or whoever drivers (I've only tested this on the Monster 1). The latest
Diamond 1.10 Monster drivers do not have Glide 2.46. You must get it from 3DFX.
Now, here's the trick: when you go into the Video Console to change to GL, change
to the HT2 version of the game (one setting after OpenGL32). It should run
great.

Fixing the freeze:
Easy: Turn off the music from the CD in Audio settings. You might freeze
occasionally because the game needs tuning for the A3D, but the transitions between
background tunes always freezes me, and this fix works fairly well.

A fix for the crash:
Try turning off GL and switching to Software Rendering just until you get through this door, then switch back. I heard this works, but it's only a rumor so don't sue me if it doesn't work. This bug IS reportedly fixed in the upcoming Enhancement Pack from Raven.

Getting Up There:
Try pole-vaulting (RUN+FORWARD+JUMP with staff). Make sure you hold down forward when he hits the ledge so Corvus holds on. This jump doesn't come hard for me at all (see demo on Files Page), but some people can't seem to get up there. If your still stuck in this room where the ceiling breaks out, bring down the console (~) type KIWI and this turns on noclip. Hit jump a few times to rise, go forward to above the ledge and make sure you are hovering over the upper floor and not "inside" any walls or floor, and bring down the console again and turn off noclip by typing KIWI again.
